MAPLE DIJON SALMON | GRILLED

Maple Dijon Salmon is the perfect seafood dish for summer holidays because of its versatility in preparation. I am going to share with you a recipe that I have been cooking for years.  This recipe features a grilled maple dijon salmon with an inviting aroma of sweet and tangy flavors. The ingredients are simple, yet they make this dish truly special. My family loves it and it is easy, quick and healthy. When the weather turns warm you can turn on your grill and cook this delicious meal in no time at all! So grab your ingredients from the store, get out your cast iron skillet or griddle pan, preheat them up on high heat with some coconut oil so they don’t stick, then follow my instructions below…

Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup Maple Syrup
  • 2 tablespoons Dijon mustard
  • 2 tablespoons Brown Sugar
  • 2 tablespoons melted butter
  • 1 (2 pound) Salmon Fillet, with skin and small bones removed
  • Salt and Freshly Ground Black Pepper to taste
  • 1 piece lemon

Directions

  1. In a bowl, whisk together the syrup, Dijon mustard, sugar, and melted butter.
  2. Season the salmon fillet with salt and pepper.
  3. Spread half the syrup mixture on top of the salmon and let stand at temperature for half-hour.
  4. Preheat grill to 450°F-550°F
  5. Place the salmon on the grill skin side down and cook until the fish flakes easily.
  6. Brush the salmon with the remaining syrup glaze during cooking.
  7. Cook for 8 minutes then flip and cook the other side for 2 to 4 more minutes.
  8. Drizzle with a bit of fresh lemon juice
  9. Serve with your favorite salad, rice, or potatoes to complete your meal!
