INIHAW NA BANGUS SA DAHON NG SAGING | GRILLED MILKFISH

A whole lot of taste in one healthy dish. A staple dish at every party and an undeniably juicy taste coming from its colorful fillings inside. Inihaw na Bangus is simply a grilled Milkfish that’s packed with pleasing flavors and aroma. The fats on its belly will definitely leave you speechless and wanting to have some more.
Best paired with dips of soy sauce topped with some fresh onion cuts and calamansi juice. This recipe will certainly bring you closer to nature’s amazing tastes especially if it’s wrapped and served in fresh banana leaves that give off a province-like vibe that is surely refreshing.

 

Ingredients

  • 1 large gutted milkfish (Bangus)
  • 1 piece diced tomato
  • 1 piece diced onion
  • 2 thumbs minced ginger
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • banana leaves
Directions
  1. Rinse and clean the milkfish and pat dry
  2. In a bowl, mix the tomatoes, onions and ginger
  3. Insert mixture inside the fish cavity
  4. Sprinkle salt and pepper on both sides of the fish
  5. Rinse clean and dry the banana leaves
  6. Wrap and tie up the milkfish inside the banana leaves
  7. Grill under medium heat for 15-20 minutes then turn and grill for 15-20 more minutes until cooked to about 70°C (158°F) temperature.
  8. Serve your inihaw na Bangus with rice and Filipino Kitchen Recipe sauce
