CHICKEN ADOBO | ADOBONG MANOK

We’re going to show you how easy it is to make a traditional Filipino dish, chicken adobo. It’s perfect for busy weeknights and can be made in just 1 hour! This recipe will give your family the delicious flavor of the tropics while still being quick and simple enough for after-work cooking. The sauce has a distinct pepper and soy sauce taste so this dish goes great with steamed rice.

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups Water
  • 3 pcs Dried Bay leaves
  • 1 cup White Vinegar
  • 1 cup Soy Sauce
  • 1 tsp Ground Pepper
  • 4 cloves Garlic, crushed
  • 2 -3 pound Chicken pieces
  • 2 tbsp Vegetable Oil
  • 1 can (75g) Liver Pate

Directions

  1. Mix water, salt, vinegar, peppercorns, garlic and soy sauce and bay leaves.
  2. Adding chicken pieces and marinate overnight for a minimum of 1 hour.
  3. Transfer chicken and marinade mixture into a large pot and bring to a boil over low to medium heat or until the chicken is tender.
  4. Remove the chicken pieces and set aside the boiled marinate mix. Transfer the chicken to a baking sheet and bake for 20 mins at 350f or you can also cook the chicken pieces in hot oil until brown.
  5. Now put this chicken back into the pot and cook over medium heat.
  6. Add a small can on liver pate, mix and let it boil for 5 minutes.
  7. Serve and enjoy your chicken adobo with rice.
