We’re going to show you how easy it is to make a traditional Filipino dish, chicken adobo. It’s perfect for busy weeknights and can be made in just 1 hour! This recipe will give your family the delicious flavor of the tropics while still being quick and simple enough for after-work cooking. The sauce has a distinct pepper and soy sauce taste so this dish goes great with steamed rice.
Ingredients
- 1 1/2 cups Water
- 3 pcs Dried Bay leaves
- 1 cup White Vinegar
- 1 cup Soy Sauce
- 1 tsp Ground Pepper
- 4 cloves Garlic, crushed
- 2 -3 pound Chicken pieces
- 2 tbsp Vegetable Oil
- 1 can (75g) Liver Pate
Directions
- Mix water, salt, vinegar, peppercorns, garlic and soy sauce and bay leaves.
- Adding chicken pieces and marinate overnight for a minimum of 1 hour.
- Transfer chicken and marinade mixture into a large pot and bring to a boil over low to medium heat or until the chicken is tender.
- Remove the chicken pieces and set aside the boiled marinate mix. Transfer the chicken to a baking sheet and bake for 20 mins at 350f or you can also cook the chicken pieces in hot oil until brown.
- Now put this chicken back into the pot and cook over medium heat.
- Add a small can on liver pate, mix and let it boil for 5 minutes.
- Serve and enjoy your chicken adobo with rice.
